Hi, I'm Oanh Nguyen.

Technologist, designer, researcher, advocate— simply put, I'm interested in learning how emerging technologies can improve our lives in a way that is radically equitable and human-first.

Professionally, I aim to practice law in a field that places me at the intersection of innovation and justice. Currently, I am working full-time while preparing for the 2027-28 law school application cycle.

Here's what I know:

User Experience Design

At Arity, I've redesigned the advertising platform experience and implemented a new post-onboarding tutorial process for the Preview App, all through the power of Figma.

User Research

I interviewed 6 team members on the Arity team to understand the pain points in the current content review process. I also conducted a heuristic evaluation to improve the Preview App.

Web Development

I have extensive experience in designing webpages using HTML/CSS and Javascript, thanks to my previous coursework at UNC Chapel Hill. Previously, I designed the webpage for Miss EmpowHer's collaboration with SoFi.

Program Development

At Syracuse University, I created programs in Python and PANDAS using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques such as parts-of-speech tagging to conduct high-level quantitative research.

Chào! Here's some fun facts about me:

P.S. My first name is pronounced like the number 'one'.

I recently graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in May 2026, completing a double major in Information Science and Media & Journalism. I am also an alumna of Durham School of the Arts, where I held concentrations in 2D Visual Arts and Art History.

Additionally, I hold a Highest Distinction award from the School of Data and Information Sciences after completing my thesis project Generating Patient-friendly Summaries of Clinical Notes with Large-language Models: a Pilot Evaluation in an Oncology Setting.

In my free time, I enjoy drawing art of my characters, concocting new homemade icecream recipes, and planning out the story beats for my Pathfinder 2e campaign. I also am a proud cat mom to 2 furry babies named Melinoë and Thumbelina!

Customer Analyst at IXL Learning

I supported schools and districts around the globe for this year's back to school season, resolving over 100+ cases in Salesforce for customers requiring assistance with their IXL accounts.

AUg 2024 - MAY 2026

Technical Intern at Launch Labs

I conducted market research and analysis on 25+ competitors, identifying gaps that were later leveraged into 20+ opportunities to convert potential clients as Launch Lab's product suite expanded beyond the automotive industry.

May 2025 - AUg 2025

Experience Design Intern at Arity

I improved Arity's Preview App experience by designing an onboarding procedure in Figma, featuring a step-by-step tutorial with tool tips to guide the user experience, synthesizing my design decisions after conducting heuristic evaluations and user surveys.

MAY 2024 - JUL 2024

Research Fellow at Syracuse University

By utilizing natural language processing techniques, I built a program using Python, pandas, and Matpotlib to track parts-of-speech tags in prompts submitted to MidJourney AI before visualizing the results with Tableau. My final project was awarded 3rd place by the National Student Data Corps Data Science Symposium and I earned a $6,000 stipend from the National Science Foundation.
